## The error Gemini API returns once gemini-embedding-001 is gone

Once it is closed to new API keys: HTTP 404

```
Once it is shut down: HTTP 404
```json
{"error":{"code":404,"message":"models/gemini-embedding-001 is not found for API version v1beta, or is not supported for generateContent. Call ModelService.ListModels to see the list of available models and their supported methods.","status":"NOT_FOUND"}}
```
## What to use instead
Move to the recommended replacement gemini-embedding-2. The embedding spaces of gemini-embedding-001 and gemini-embedding-2 are incompatible, so you must re-embed all existing data. The task_type parameter is not supported, so put the task directly in the prompt.
