# Route v1 directions stops working

Calls to /route/directions/* on Azure Maps stop working on March 31, 2028.

On March 31, 2028, Azure Maps will retire Route v1 directions endpoints. After this date, requests to /route/directions/* will fail. Calls must be transitioned to the newer service version to avoid disruptions.

## What to use instead

Update requests to call POST /route/directions?api-version=2025-01-01 with a GeoJSON body. Send batch requests to /route/directions:batch instead.
