# Route v1 range stops working

Calls to /route/range/* on Azure Maps stop working on March 31, 2028.

On March 31, 2028, Azure Maps will retire the Route v1 service. This retirement affects all calls to the /route/range/* endpoints. After this date, these calls will fail and will not be answered.

## What to use instead

Update existing calls to use the replacement by calling POST /route/range?api-version=2025-01-01 instead.

- API: Azure Maps (atlas.microsoft.com)
- Kind: Version retirement
- Takes effect: March 31, 2028
- Calls after that day: fail
- Calls it hits: `/route/range/*`
- Source: [Announcement](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/maps/route/get-route-directions?view=rest-maps-1.0)

## Azure Maps's words

> The Azure Maps Route v1 service is now deprecated and will be retired on 3/31/28. To avoid service disruptions, all calls to Route v1 service will need to be updated to use Route v2025-01-01 service by 3/31/28.

Okapi finds the calls this change hits in your repo and opens the pull request with the fix: https://github.com/apps/okapi-agent
