# GET /REST/v1/Routes/FromMajorRoads stops working

Calls to /REST/v1/Routes/FromMajorRoads on Bing Maps API stopped working on September 30, 2024.

On September 30, 2024, the GET /REST/v1/Routes/FromMajorRoads endpoint was retired. This change affects requests sent to /REST/v1/Routes/FromMajorRoads on dev.virtualearth.net. Following this retirement date, calls to this endpoint fail.

## What to use instead

The endpoint has no direct replacement, as applications must now select their own start points. You can calculate each route individually using GET /REST/v1/Routes from chosen major-road start points, or migrate to Azure Maps Route.

The API has no direct replacement; the start points must be chosen by the application.

## Bing Maps API's words

> The Calculate Routes from Major Roads API allows you to calculate routes to a location from major roads in four directions (West, North, East and South). This API will be retired on September 30, 2024.

Okapi finds the calls this change hits in your repo and opens the pull request with the fix: https://github.com/apps/okapi-agent
