# The legacy Alerts API is deprecated

Databricks REST API deprecated /api/2.0/preview/sql/alerts* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Databricks has deprecated the legacy Alerts API without setting a shutdown date. This change impacts requests to /api/2.0/preview/sql/alerts* endpoints. Databricks REST API notes that support will end soon, after which these calls will fail.

## What to use instead

Migrate your integrations to call /api/2.0/sql/alerts instead of /api/2.0/preview/sql/alerts. The move requires more than changing an endpoint address, as the updated API uses PATCH for partial updates and moves deleted alerts to the trash.
