GitHub Models /catalog* endpoint removal

Stopped workingSubscribe to GitHub ModelsShare

Requests to /catalog* fail since July 30, 2026, when GitHub Models was fully retired. The model catalog endpoints are no longer available alongside the playground, inference API, and related UI. Any remaining requests to these paths now fail.

Calls it hits

  • /catalog*

What to use instead of these calls

Use Microsoft Foundry's model catalog instead. Moving requires more than updating an identifier, as Microsoft Foundry is a separate platform with its own accounts, keys, and model ids.

Microsoft Foundry is another platform, with its own account, keys and model ids.

In GitHub Models's words

GitHub Models will be fully retired on July 30, 2026. After this date, the playground, model catalog, inference API, and BYOK endpoints will no longer be available, and the related UI will be removed.
