# /assignments/* stops working

Calls to GET /assignments/* on GitHub REST API stopped working on August 28, 2026.

On August 28, 2026, GitHub removed the GET /assignments/* endpoints from the REST API. Calls to these paths fail since that date, as the operations are no longer available. Any requests made to them are no longer answered by the service.

## What to use instead

There is no direct replacement API because GitHub Classroom is retired in favor of partner solutions, and the endpoints return 410 Gone. Moving to a partner education platform requires a product decision rather than a simple endpoint change.
