# /api/v4/projects/{}/managed_licenses stops working

Calls to /api/v4/projects/{id}/managed_licenses* on GitLab API stopped working on May 22, 2023.

On May 22, 2023, GitLab removed the /api/v4/projects/{id}/managed_licenses* endpoints. Calls to these paths now fail. This removal followed an earlier deprecation announcing that the API was scheduled for removal in GitLab 16.0.

## What to use instead

Enforce license approvals with a License Approval policy (security policies) instead. No REST endpoint replaces it, meaning the migration requires moving approval workflows rather than updating an identifier.

No REST endpoint replaces it: license approvals move to License Approval policies.
