# POST /rest/api/3/search is deprecated

Jira and Confluence Cloud REST APIs deprecated POST /rest/api/3/search without giving a shutdown date yet.

The POST /rest/api/3/search endpoint is deprecated without a shutdown date. Jira and Confluence Cloud REST APIs announced on October 31, 2024, that the endpoint is currently being removed, after which requests will fail. This change directly affects calls made to POST /rest/api/3/search on *.atlassian.net.

## What to use instead

Call POST /rest/api/3/search/jql instead. The replacement pages with nextPageToken instead of startAt and returns only ids unless fields are requested.
