Matrix.org homeserver API has deprecated the GET /_matrix/client/v3/events/{id} endpoint without a shutdown date. Calls made to this endpoint will eventually fail.

## What to use instead

Call GET /_matrix/client/v3/rooms/{roomId}/event/{eventId} instead.
