# GET /collections is deprecated

Noun Project API deprecated GET /collections without giving a shutdown date yet.

Noun Project API has deprecated the GET /collections endpoint without announcing a shutdown date. Existing callers can still reach older endpoints if they previously had access, but the route is no longer updated and calls will eventually fail. The change impacts any integration relying on GET /collections under the older API version.

## What to use instead

Use GET /v2/collection?query= instead, following the instructions in the V2 Migration Guide.

- API: Noun Project API (api.thenounproject.com)
- Kind: Endpoint removal
- Takes effect: no date given yet
- Calls after that day: fail
- Calls it hits: `GET /collections`
- Source: [Announcement](https://api.thenounproject.com/getting_started.html)
- Verified: November 6, 2026, against Noun Project API's own pages

## Noun Project API's words

> Our older V1 API endpoints are still accessible if you previously had access. However, they are no longer being updated and we recommend transitioning to using our newer V2 API endpoints instead.
