# The exclude_inactive query parameter is deprecated

OpenCorporates API deprecated GET /v0.4/companies/search, query parameter exclude_inactive without giving a shutdown date yet.

The exclude_inactive query parameter for the GET /v0.4/companies/search endpoint has been deprecated without a shutdown date. This change affects calls to the companies search endpoint that supply this parameter. Once fully removed, requests using exclude_inactive will fail.

Use the inactive parameter instead, passing inactive=false.
