# zip on GET /data/2.5/forecast is deprecated

OpenWeather API deprecated GET /data/2.5/forecast, query parameter zip without giving a shutdown date yet.

The query parameter zip on the GET /data/2.5/forecast endpoint is deprecated without a shutdown date. OpenWeather API notes that requests by city name, zip-codes and city id have been deprecated. Affected calls will eventually fail.

## What to use instead

Resolve the ZIP code with the Geocoding API and call with lat and lon instead.
