# /v1/payments/capture is deprecated

PayPal REST API deprecated /v1/payments/capture/* without giving a shutdown date yet.

PayPal deprecated the /v1/payments/capture/* endpoints without a shutdown date. Calls made to these endpoints fail as part of the broader deprecation of the /v1/payments endpoint. Integrations relying on capture lookups and refunds under this path must transition to current alternatives.

## What to use instead

Use Payments v2 captures, specifically GET /v2/payments/captures/{id} and POST /v2/payments/captures/{id}/refund.
