# /v1/payments/payment is deprecated

PayPal REST API deprecated /v1/payments/payment* without giving a shutdown date yet.

The /v1/payments/payment* endpoints are deprecated without a shutdown date. Calls made to these endpoints will eventually fail. PayPal REST API announced that the /v1/payments endpoint is deprecated.

## What to use instead

Move to Orders v2 by using POST /v2/checkout/orders followed by capture or authorize, and use Payments v2 with /v2/payments/authorizations, /v2/payments/captures, and /v2/payments/refunds.
