# POST /availableNumbers:rentAny is deprecated

Sinch Numbers API deprecated POST /availableNumbers:rentAny without giving a shutdown date yet.

Sinch Numbers API has deprecated the POST /availableNumbers:rentAny endpoint without a shutdown date. This call is restricted as it only supports US LOCAL numbers, and requests to this endpoint will ultimately fail. The change impacts callers attempting to rent any phone number matching criteria through this activation endpoint.

## What to use instead

New integrations should use the Number Order API instead.

- API: Sinch Numbers API (numbers.api.sinch.com)
- Kind: Endpoint removal
- Takes effect: no date given yet
- Calls after that day: fail
- Calls it hits: `POST /availableNumbers:rentAny`
- Source: [Changelog](https://developers.sinch.com/docs/numbers/api-reference/numbers)
- Verified: November 6, 2026, against Sinch Numbers API's own pages

## Sinch Numbers API's words

> The Available Numbers activation endpoints, "Activate a new phone number" ( availableNumbers/{phoneNumber}:rent ) and "Rent any number that matches the criteria" ( availableNumbers:rentAny ), are deprecated and only support US LOCAL numbers.
