# The App Center branch build API stops working

Calls to /v0.1/apps/{id}/{id}/branches* on Visual Studio App Center API stopped working on March 31, 2025.

## What to use instead

Move builds to Azure Pipelines using Export App Center Build, or choose another CI service and call its API instead. Because App Center Build has no direct API successor, teams must select a replacement platform.

App Center Build has no API successor: the team picks another CI service.

- API: Visual Studio App Center API (api.appcenter.ms)
- Kind: Removal
- Takes effect: March 31, 2025
- Calls after that day: fail
- Calls it hits: `/v0.1/apps/{id}/{id}/branches*`
- Source: [Announcement](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/appcenter/retirement)
- Verified: November 6, 2026, against Visual Studio App Center API's own pages
